It's all about the kids
I'm not a believer of Mother's Day. People look at me like I'm nuts, that's a given, but it's OK.
Isn't EVERY day "Mother's Day"? I sure feel it with Kar. Why should she be guilt-tripped to buy me flowers and a card on the 2nd Sunday in May, when she goes for walks with me nearly every day? We spend time together, even though she is 16 years old. Without guilt!
That is the REAL gift.
So many mothers lament how they "lost" their kids as teenagers. All they are now is a chauffer, ATM, cook, etc. to their kid(s).
That's NOT Kar. She is my pride and joy. She has a good head on her shoulders and always tries to be a good person. I admire my daughter. I'm darn lucky to have her!
The memories we make every day far outweigh a 1/2 hearted Hallmark holiday.
I often joke that Mother's Day means *I* owe *her* a day of pampering and spoiling. Without her, I'm wouldn't be a mother!
