The beauty of nature

Lightning bugs have been giving us a pretty show each night for about a month now. It's NEVER been like this before! But then, we have had the PERFECT summer here.

Rick's garden has really brought out the grasshoppers. Big, brown fliers and little lime green guys. It's so much fun to watch them...some jump, some fly. All related, but very different and very similar.

And yesterday, I got to spend the whole perfect summer day with my daughter who is getting ready to go off to college. Not just "go to," but MOVE away.

Like the big brown grasshoppers, she's going to be flying soon. And like the lime green guys, she'll come home and blend. And if she doesn't, that will mean she's found a new garden.
