Every cent helps

Kar is just as bent as me on saving money for our Vegas trip!

No treats. She's been taking back our bottles and cans, taking snacks from home to school for lunch, earning extra allowance money. She's saving her change.

This week, she made dinner 3 times - pasta, sloppy joes and chili - which was an extra $5.

I am taking a lunch each day. Bought a $2 can of cappuccino mix at Walmart, instead of stopping at Speedway on the way to work for $1 each. Cut out fast-food "Meal Deals."

Kar has been watching the store ads for deals. Suggesting cheaper meals, like making our own pizzas, instead of Pizza Hut. She's been checking out my cookbooks.

I'm even saving gas and time by grocery shopping once a week, not stopping each night on my way home. And by staying at work for lunch, instead of leaving. That is a DOUBLE win!

It's so much fun for us to do this, and not have to just pull out the debit or Visa cards. This is OUR hard-earned money!
